In Vitro Fertilization (IVF & ICSI)

It is one of the most important technological breakthroughs in the medical field. Robert G. Edwards, the physiologist who developed the treatment and applied it for the first time in 1978, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2010 for this accomplishment. IVF is a very safe and an easily accessible treatment for couples who are unable to conceive children through ordinary means. In this treatment, the couple’s own reproductive cells are used. It is now estimated that more than 6 million babies have been born worldwide with the help of IVF/ICSI.
